One of El Paso’s Finest Bootmaker Made an Appearance at Coachella’s Final Weekend
Another Coachella has come and gone and I hear that this one was another hit.
This years Coachella had quite a bit of El Paso representation. In weekend one, aside from Khalid performing with Billie Eilish, a beautiful art installation made to represent the Borderland towered above the festival grounds. El Paso artist duo, Los Dos, or LxsDos, created "La Guardiana" that represented the Borderland beautifully.
Then, in this final weekend, one of El Paso's finest bootmakers made a special appearance on stage. Donning a full denim suit and custom made boots from Rocketbuster Boots, Grammy award winner Kendrick Lamar rocked the Coachella audience.
Rocketbuster Boots shared the (very short) journey of design to stage. In four days, Rocketbuster Boots designed Lamar's drippy custom boots, which feature patchwork details like the LA Dodgers logo and a crystalized pgLang branding.
The whole process took FOUR days- but it was the opportunity of a lifetime! The end result is amazing and the boots are unique and, of course, are just perfect for Lamar.
Although it's a completely different look than what we're used to seeing Lamar in, it definitely suits him.
This isn't the first time Rocketbuster boots has handmade boots for a celebrity, and I'm sure it won't be the last, remember when Arnold Schwarzenegger created a buzz when he came into town for his custom boots?
Most recently we've seen Jeff Bezos and Chris Pine travel through town for their custom boots. El Paso is the boot capitol of the world, and you know that if it's from El Paso, the boots are made with a heart of passion and love.
