Summer is really starting to heat up here in the Borderland and some people need a little help cooling off.

KLAQ's Scott Ronson, while seemingly gruff and apathetic, was one of the most caring people I have ever met. Of all the things he did in his life to help others, one of his many ... and most deeply felt ... causes was helping the elderly and others without proper air conditioning deal with our insane Summer heat by getting them fans.

Since his death, the Extreme Weather Task Force continues to collect and donate fans to those in need.  According to the El Paso Herald Post:

New fan donations can be dropped off any time at local fire stations; meanwhile corporate and monetary donations are welcome payable to the APS Silver Star Board.

The APS Silver Star Board mailing address is 401 East Franklin Ave, Suite 350, Attention Grace Ortiz, and El Paso, Texas 79901
