Passion of the Christ 2? Our Listeners Have Ideas

When I first heard about a sequel to 2004’s “The Passion of The Christ” I thought it might be a joke, like the old “Titanic II” gag. Then, I remembered: there IS a part two to the story of Jesus beyond what happened in the first movie! There’s a saying about how all comic book deaths are temporary. Yeah, Jesus started that.

Another J.C., Jim Caviezel, who played the title role said in an interview this week that a Part Two is definitely in the works. There’s even an IMDB page for it and it looks like the title will be “The Passion of the Christ: Resurrection”.

That’s a fine title, but our listeners thought we could come up with something with a little more “pop”. Here’s a list of our suggestions:

In case you were wondering, yes, Mel Gibson is still attached to the franchise. It’s hard to have too much sympathy for Mel Gibson but he has been reduced from being the biggest box office draw in the world to playing roles like “Guy Who Talks to a Beaver Puppet” and (shudder) “Mark Wahlberg’s Dad”.
