El Paso Deserves a Pan Dulce Truck in Every Neighborhood
There are few sounds that get me running out of my house faster than the sound of an ice cream truck coming down my street.
The second I hear that familiar music, I'm scrambling to find cash and hoping I can make it outside before the truck disappears around the corner. Sometimes I catch it, sometimes I don't!
El Paso has some pretty amazing ice cream trucks. Where else can you get a slightly terrifying SpongeBob popsicle with crooked eyes AND a bag of Hot Cheetos with cheese? Or a raspa and an elote en vaso?
But as much as I love our ice cream trucks, there's another kind of truck I wish would cruise through El Paso neighborhoods.
A PAN DULCE TRUCK!
El Paso Ice Cream Trucks Are Great but We Need Something Different
Ice cream trucks are practically a childhood tradition, and here in El Paso, they've become so much more than just a place to buy ice cream.
But imagine hearing a little jingle coming down your street, except instead of running outside for a popsicle, you're running outside for fresh Mexican sweet bread!
I'm talking conchas, marranitos, empanadas, cuernitos, and all those delicious treats you normally have to make a trip to the panadería to get.
And the best part? You wouldn't even have to leave your neighborhood!

El Paso Needs a Panadería Truck Selling Fresh Pan Dulce
I came across a video of a panadería truck in California that drives through neighborhoods selling pan dulce, and I immediately felt like El Paso was missing out!
We already have some incredible local panaderías, but imagine if one of them decided to take their delicious treats on the road.
Picture yourself relaxing at home when suddenly you hear the pan dulce truck coming down the street. Next thing you know, you're running outside with whatever cash you can find because there's NO WAY you're missing out on fresh conchas!
And if that truck happened to show up on a chilly El Paso morning? Forget about it. A warm concha with a cup of coffee or hot chocolate sounds like heaven.

What Song Would an El Paso Pan Dulce Truck Play?
Now, there's only one important detail left to figure out.
What song would an El Paso pan dulce truck play while cruising through neighborhoods?
Ice cream trucks have their familiar jingles, but a panadería truck needs something that lets the whole neighborhood know fresh pan dulce is on the way!
Whatever song they choose, I just know I'd be the first person running outside with cash in hand.
And this time, I'm not letting that truck get away!
