Since Aaron Jones was drafted in the fifth round by the Green Bay Packers last year, he has done everything right on the football field. In addition, he is extremely fan friendly and it did not take long for the former UTEP star to endear himself to the Cheeseheads. As he was racking up yards last night against the New England Patriots, it looked like Jones was going to make another big play early in the fourth quarter as Green Bay was driving in a tie game. Instead, he fumbled for the first time in his NFL career and the Patriots recovered the ball. Unfortunately, the Packers were shell-shocked and New England capitalized with a pair of quick touchdowns and a 31-17 win.

After the game, Jones was asked by the media about the play and he did not shy away from taking responsibility both in front of the camera and on social media. Packers fans responded with support and are completely behind the second-year running back.

Prior to the fumble, Jones was having another big night for Green Bay. He had gained 76 yards on 14 carries in his time share with Jamaal Williams (34 yards on 7 carries). As long as he continues to protect the football, Jones should continue to receive the majority of the carries for Green Bay. On the downside, the Packers remain winless on the road this season and are now 3-4-1, third place in the NFC North. They return home to play the Dolphins next week before they go back on the road against Seattle and Minnesota.
