The beloved Northeast bakery, Cox's Bakery, will be closing their business for good on December 24th after almost 40 years in business.

The bakery, located at 9601 McCombs, announced back in March that Cox's Bakery was up for sale.

In October, Cox's Bakery made the same announcement that they were still up for sale at a reduced price and informed the public that if new ownership could not be found the business would closing at the end of 2020.

Well, we've made it to the end of 2020 and Cox's Bakery made the announcement on their Facebook page that December 24th would be their last operating day. They also announced that they will be selling all their equipment. Check out the full announcement below:

As someone who grew up in the Northeast, it will certainly be a sad day when Cox's Bakery closes its doors for good, and I know it will surely be missed by all of El Paso.

Their scrumptious cakes will be missed (they actually made my parents' wedding cake!) and I will for sure miss their finger-licking cherry fritters!

It's been a difficult year all around, especially for many small businesses in our area.

Remember, if you have the means and the opportunity, to support a small business whether it be a store or a restaurant; it could help save your favorite place. El Paso businesses are more than willing to accommodate your needs!

For now, you can check out the equipment Cox's Bakery has for sale by checking out their Facebook page.

Cox's Bakery is open Monday to Saturday from 8 A.M. to 5 P.M. and will close permanently on December 24th. Thanks for all the tasty treats, Cox's Bakery!
