You may think you're a freak, but chances are you're not the only one into freaky things.

We have all heard the saying "Lady in the streets, freak in the sheets." Now it seems there may be more freaks out there than we initially thought. According to a new study from Canada, almost 50% of respondents expressed an interest in sexually deviant behavior.

According to society, sexual deviance is something not only not talked about, but is often thought to be taboo. This once taboo topic has now been brought to the forefront of popular culture with movies like 50 Shades of Grey and the commercial mentality of "sex sells."

A new study surveyed 1,000 people from Quebec, Canada and found that almost half indicated interest in sexual perversions. There are 8 types of paraphilic behavior that psychologists recognize and of that 8, 4 were remarkably common.

Here are the 8 types of paraphilic behavior according to the American Psychiatric Association's Diagnositc and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders:

  • Voyeuristic – spying on others in private activities
  • Exhibitionistic – exposing the genitals
  • Frotteuristic – touching or rubbing against a non-consenting individual
  • Sexual masochism – undergoing humiliation, bondage or suffering
  • Sexual sadism – inflicting humiliation, bondage or suffering
  • Paedophilic – sexual focus on children
  • Fetishistic – using non-living objects or having a highly specific focus on non-genital body parts
  • Transvestic – engaging in sexually arousing cross-dressing

The most common types were voyeurism (35%), fetishism (20%), masochism (19%), and frotteurism (26%)
