A glowing, green fireball ... doing about 58,000 mph, was seen by peeps in 4 states as it traveled across the sky before vanishing over Dallas, Texas.

The fireball was also seen over Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana. It was first spotted in Texas over Malakoff, Texas and then traveled over 60 miles in 3.8 seconds before exploding over Everglade Park in Big D.

The green object was caught on video and produced a few orange-ish "chunks" before disappearing.

NASA has since confirmed that it was a meteor and that it probably had a high nickel content. Meteors, depending on what they're made of, can generate different colors and nickel tends to "go green".  It was seen by a bunch of people and captured on video.

An analysis of the accounts filed on the American Meteor Society website shows that the meteor was first sighted 54 miles above the Texas town of Malakoff, moving to the northwest at 58,000 miles per hour. It traveled 61 miles through the upper atmosphere in just 3.8 seconds, finally disintegrating 36 miles over Everglade Park in Dallas near I-30. The object producing the fireball was too small and too fast to have generated any meteorites. - NASA/Facebook

The object even caught the attention of animals said one witness who reported all the neighborhood dogs barking as it passed overhead. It was about 54 miles up when sighted over Malakoff and around 36 miles up when it disintegrated over Dallas.

A doorbell camera also caught it flying overhead.

NASA said there's probably nothing left of the meteor and that it was probably too small and going too fast to have produced any meteorites.
