A local music school is offering music classes to kids with Down Syndrome.

Sound Stage 9, (SS9), has teamed up with the Down Syndrome Coalition for El Paso, (DSCEP), to offer kids with Down Syndrome free music classes. The idea came from DSCEP Board Member Araceli Berumen who saw how much music classes helped her son who has Down Syndrome. Public schools don't offer many extracurricular activities for these kids so, SS9 gives these classes at no charge thanks to a grant from the McKee Foundation.

SS9 owner Roger Argenis, a professional musician himself, said he is:

Blessed to be a blessing in our community. Music is one of the most powerful things the world has to offer.

The program will continue as long as the grants and donations continue. If you would like to help or want more info, visit the DSCEP website or their Facebook page. You can also visit the Sound Stage 9 website.
