2 men were killed Sunday by an inattentive driver.

According to the El Paso Times, an elderly woman making a left turn failed to yield the right of way to the motorcyclists. Everyone, please, WATCH OUT FOR MOTORCYCLES!

They're much smaller than cars and harder to see so, please, look twice. Once to see that things are clear and again to double check for motorcycles, bicycles and other, smaller things like children and animals. According to Herrman and Herrman, bikers are "25 times more likely than passengers in cars to be killed in an accident, and they are five times more likely to be injured."

Some  of you are shaking your heads and blaming the bikers because: they travel too fast, split lanes, weave in and out of traffic, etc. I can't deny that some do but, trust me, they make up a tiny fraction of El Paso's bikers.

Simply and honestly put, the vast majority of motorcycle accidents are caused by drivers. Please, always look twice and share the road.
