Work on the new Downtown Trolley system continues and some more street/lane closures are coming.

As of 6am this morning, Mesa Street will be reduced to one lane at Baltimore Drive and will stay that way for several weeks. These plans, according to El Paso Herald Post online, were

developed in coordination with the City of El Paso, Sun Metro, the Texas Department of Transportation, and the University of Texas at El Paso. While traffic will be allowed to flow in both directions on Mesa Street, motorists are encouraged to consider alternate routes such as Stanton Street and Sun Bowl Drive.

The Glory Road Transfer Center will still be operating but you'll need to enter it from Oregon Street.  According to El Paso Herald Post online, here are some other trolley related traffic issues for this week:

  • Stanton Street between Franklin Avenue and Yandell Drive
  • Oregon Street between Franklin Avenue and Yandell Drive
