Several recent gate closures on Fort Bliss have made entering and exiting the post a big pain in the culo. Now, due to the upcoming holidays, more gate closures have been announced.

In a bid to allow soldiers more time with their families, some Fort Bliss gates will be closed to lessen the amount of traffic on post. I'm not sure I understand how that helps with family time but, that's the story. According to the E. P. Times:

The Constitution gate is scheduled to be closed from Saturday to Jan. 3, pending the Old Ironsides gate reopening as scheduled on Friday. Pershing gate, which is normally open for just a few hours a day, will also be closed from Saturday to Jan. 3.

Those needing a visitors pass can still get one at the visitors center, located near the Old Ironsides gate, daily from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.
