Mexican Protesters Keeping Americans From Coming Into Mexico
The tables have turned for some Americans who live in Nogales, Arizona. Last week some members of the group Sonorans for Health and Life were protesting. The group had blocked off the checkpoint leading to Mexico so Americans couldn't cross over. The protesters were hiding their identity and holding up signs that read "stay at home". According to BBC Mexico has under 500 Covid-19 victims while we have over 65,000. The protesters don't want the essential Americans crossing over to their side unless they get tested.
We're a borderland city and some people do travel to Juarez for business. Thankfully we haven't had any problems with our essential workers that cross into Juarez. Just yesterday the news stations announced we have over 40 cases here in El Paso. Luckily Juarez residents have not given us the treatment Sonorans have given Nogales crossers. Hopefully, it won't get to that point for essential workers to be turned away and not allowed in Juarez.
