Whenever you think of grunge music, you usually think of the big 4 bands during the late 80s/early 90s: Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains & Nirvana. But there was one band that many consider to be one of the FIRST grunge (and sludge metal) bands in the world: The Melvins were who formed back in 1983 in Montesano, Washington.

I don't think the band needs an introduction, but if you don't know The Melvins, for nearly 40 years, they have racked up a ton of accomplishments including releasing 25 studio albums & lineups that have changed constantly through out the years. The exception being guitarist/vocalist Buzz Osborne, who was a founding member that has stayed with the band ever since. Their latest album, Five Legged Dog, was released last year October 15th.

It was announced that The Melvins would be going back on tour in 2022 in both September & October. If we look on their official website & we scroll down to the October dates, we can see they will be returning to play in El Paso on October 25th at The Lowbrow Palace, 111 Robinson Ave. This will be the band's 7th time performing in El Paso; they've performed here a total of 6 times spanning back since 1986. They will also be joined by the experimental rock band from Austin: We Are The Asteroid.

The Lowbrow Palace is actually where The Melvins performed the last 2 times in El Paso, in both 2015 & 2016. And both times the crowd got into it.

It is an all ages show & the tickets start at $25. You can purchase your tickets for The Melvins Lowbrow Palace show right here.
