Meet the New Leaning Tower Of…..Dallas?
A failed building demolition in Dallas has left the city with a leaning, semi-demolished structure that has left many scratching their heads. The demolition was a part of the new development called The Central that will bring a hotel, restaurants and more to the area, according to The Dallas Morning News. The demolition company used almost 300 pounds of dynamite for the implosion and was successful in bringing down the outside of the building, called the "skirt." The core, however, was left standing, although at a slight lean reminding many of the Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy. The demolition company spokesperson told the Dallas NBC affiliate that these issues can sometimes happen with older buildings whose elevator shafts can have steel and concrete around the center.
The company will be demolishing the remaining part of the building this week, but plenty of Dallas residents are making their way to the spot for the photo opportunity.
