The Texas Department of Transportation has launched their annual "Share the Road: Look Twice for Motorcycles” campaign to reduce crashes and save lives.

The beautiful weather here in El Paso allows for year round riding but, in spring the number of bikes on the road always goes up.

TxDOT Executive Director LtGen Joe Weber, USMC (Ret) said:

“We see far too many deadly motorcycle crashes on Texas roadways, so we’re telling drivers to be extra diligent when sharing the road.” “We’re constantly told drivers simply didn’t see the motorcyclist until it’s too late. As drivers, it is incumbent upon us to be fully aware of our surroundings at all times and take proactive measures to ensure the safety of motorcyclists.”

I almost got hit riding in this morning so please guys, take that extra second and look twice for motorcycles. For more info on motorcycle related events and activities, visit the El Paso Motorcycle Coalition on facebook.
