After a security guard heard snoring coming from one of the emergency bathrooms at Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center, a group of guards went to check out what was making that terrible noise. They were surprised to find 51-year-old James Hoffman passed out, wearing lipstick and with a needle hanging from his arm.

On Saturday, Hoffman was suppose to be on duty, but was instead was taken to a room for treatment and and observation. Morphine, Ketamine and Lorazepam were found in the bathroom with Hoffman, which are drugs used as painkillers, anesthetics and anti-anxiety medication. These drugs were also found in Hoffman's work area, even though none of his patients were using those drugs.

A large amount of narcotics had been missing from the hospital's drug system, according to Sante Fe police. Police are trying to identify what drugs he was taken, that caused him to become unconscious. They also believe that Hoffman may have improperly treated a disorderly patient who was later found unresponsive.

Hoffman has been fired and is being held at Sante Fe County Jail. Police and the hospital will continue to investigate the incident, according to Santa Fe Police spokeswoman Celina Espinosa.
