The coronavirus pandemic has caused many normal fundraising efforts for local charities and organizations to be put on pause until they can find ways to host them in socially distanced ways. One local Girl Scout troop has found an adorable and unique way to continue their fundraising efforts with a new money earning event.

Girl Scout’s Troop 65902 will be doing Flamingo Flocking fundraising to raise money for future girl scout trips. It’s a hilarious idea when you think about people getting up in the morning and seeing tons of hot pink flamingos all over their yard. The flamingos come with a sign that says “You’ve Been Flocked”  and the flamingos will be put in the front yard of the person you decide to flock. Pricing varies by how big of a flock you want in your yard:

  • $40 for 1 full flock of 50 flamingos
  • $25 for ½ a flock of 25 flamingos
  • $15 for a ¼ flock of 12 flamingos

The flamingos will stay in the person’s yard for one day from 7 am to 8 pm. They will be removed by the end of the day. This is a great way for you to celebrate someone's birthday, a special occasion, a "get well soon" gesture, or even just a way to put a smile on someone's face. If you would like to order a Flamingo Flocking, please email Girl Scout Troop 65902 at gstroop65902@gmail.com.  This is such a great idea and I hope other troops do similar things so they can still raise money during these difficult times. Although flamingos are probably a lot cuter than a guild of garden gnomes.
