Lace up your running shoes and grab your four legged bestie because the Humane Society of El Paso is gearing up for their 34th Annual K-9 Classic.

“The K9 Classic allows us to serve animals who have been abused or neglected – bringing them back to health,” said HSEP officials. “But we also help with microchipping, spay and neuter services, and other necessary medical care.”

The 34th annual K-9 Classic is set to happen on Saturday, April 22nd at Ascarate Park. It will include the annual 1.5-mile fun walk/run which serves as a fundraiser for the organization to help them fund their HSEP foster programs.

Each year, the Humane Society of El Paso spends more than $400,000 on medical care for the vulnerable animals in its care. Events like their annual K-9 classic is not only a way for families to have fun with their dogs, it is also a way to bring awareness to the services HSEP offers.

By participating, you will be helping our program which supports puppies and kittens under eight weeks, nursing dogs/cats, and special needs animals,” said HSEP officials.

The K-9 Classic starts at 8:00 a.m. It is a family-friendly event and guests will be able to enjoy a variety of vendor booths, a food truck, demonstrations, and more!
