Last weekend a local El Pasoan, Lorenzo Cooper won the Dirty South No Prep Races in Odessa! Lorenzo Cooper's Chevy and racing skills helped him walk away with a $2,500 reward. Lorenzo Cooper has been racing for quite some time now and continues to keep on going. This past weekend I had the honor of seeing the races up close and personal.

I got to head out of El Paso to Odessa with part of Lorenzo's crew Vince Vigil and Alex Padron. Of course, after arriving at Penwell Knights Raceway I had my very first bee sting. But that pain was worth what I got to experience that night at the races. I say it was worth it because of the experience and getting to meet Mike Murillo from Street Outlaws. Before the actual race takes place, there are time trials and eliminations. Those narrow it down to who will make it to the final round.

Lorenzo Cooper was part of the 6-second trial and made it to the finals and took first place! This is pretty much an all day thing since it didn't finish till 5 am. His awesome crew that helped is his wife, Ray DeAnda, Vince Vigil, and Alex Padron. Lorenzo Cooper sure did speed his way to victory and got to bring home his well-deserved win!
