Fathers Day is coming up fast, here are a few suggestions to get Dad something nice and help some local businesses at the same time.

Fathers Day is this Sunday, June 21st and, if you are unsure what to get Pops, here are a few suggestions.  These are not only great places to find gifts but, they are all locally owned and, in the economic wake of COVID 19, the "little guys" could really use your business.

Some of these are clearly inspired by my own interests ... my daughters read these things so, I'm basically hinting ... but, they are all loaded with things most any Dad would enjoy.

  • Barnett Harley Davidson. Get Dad some new Harley gear. Whether he rides or not, every Dad secretly wants to and will totally rock that stuff. If he does ride, go a little bigger and get him some accessories like new pipes or bars. Better yet, a new bike!
  • Food. Don't make him cook on Dad Day, take him out. El Paso is loaded with great, locally-owned restaurants/bar & grills. A few of my favorites are: West - Rib Hut, Rulis International Kitchen or Angry Owl. Central /Downtown - Kikis or The Tap. Northeast - The Edge Of Texas or 3 Pints Pub. East Rib Hut #2 or B-52 Bombers Oyster Pub.
  • Assorted Gifts. Visit one of El Paso's Farmers Markets, Downtown or in the Upper Valley. They have cool gifts made here in the Borderland by Borderland artisans.
  • Music. Find that classic album, cd or video he loved as a kid at All That Music. If he plays, an instrument, grab him a new axe or some strings, sticks, cables, etc at Hero Music.

Those are just a few ideas, there are plenty more but ... please ... whatever you do, forget the chains and malls and such. Keep it local.

Happy Father's Day to all the rockin' Dads out there from all of us here at The Q!
