To me, there was never a question. Now it's official.

Lemmy Kilmister passed away yesterday after a short battle with a very, very aggressive form of cancer and his band, Motorhead, died as well. The music they created will live forever, as will Lemmy, in audio and video form.

Without the whiskey soaked voice, the frantic bass playing and absolutely textbook, "sex-drugs-n-rock n roll" aura of Lemmy, there can be no Motorhead. He WAS Motorhead and now, long time drummer Mikkey Dee has made the bands dissolution official. A yahoo.com article quoted Mikkey as saying:

"We won't be doing any more tours or anything. And there won't be any more records. But the brand survives, and Lemmy lives on in the hearts of everyone."

A major bummer but, honestly, what other choice is there?

Rest In Peace Lemmy, please say hi to my brother Scott Ronson for me. I know he'll be waiting at the bar for you!
