A new report out today shows that Las Cruces is not only a great city, but one of the best run in the United States!

Some cities are known for the way their city government's are able to successfully run their city. Then there are cities that you have to wonder if they even know what the heck they are doing. Many states are cutting their city government budgets more that are forcing many cities to face uncertainty. Governing a city can be difficult because leaders need to not only look at the important issues and needs of the people in their city but also look at the often very limited resources to see how they will be able to make things happen.

To see what cities are doing the best job for their community, personal- finance website decided to take a look at the 150 largest U.S. cities to see just how well local leadership is running their cities. Their goal was to see "how well city officials manage and spend public funds by comparing the quality of services residents receive against the city’s total budget."

WalletHub used 33 key performance indicators in six service categories to get their findings.

Here is how Las Cruces ranked on their report:

Financial Stability - 38
Education - 78
Health - 45
Safety - 59
Economy - 109
Infrastructure and Pollution - 64

In all, Las Cruces came out #36 in overall quality of City Services and #7 in Total Budget Per Capita.
