Juarez Police Make Massive $60 Million Drug Bust
Lots of drug busts happening in the Borderland recently. CLICK HERE to check out a story about a big drug bust that happened on this side of the border. There was another bust that ended up in the seizure of about $60 million in drugs on the other side of the border.
Police down in Juarez found a semi-trailer that had been abandoned in a residential neighborhood near the corner of San Jose and Oscar Flores streets. The drug stash that was found inside the trailer included:
- 13,216 pounds of heroin
- 8,810 pounds of fentanyl
- 2,893 pounds of marijuana
- 145 pounds of methamphetamine
Authorities say the seizure and discovery of the trailer came from an anonymous tip, and they're hoping that is has dealt a major blow to organized crime. At the time I am writing this, there have been no arrests made in connection to the trailer full of drugs.
I'm going to take this moment to talk about about some good stuff on Netflix by the way. It really has to do with the fact that the things I've been watching are court room dramas.
First, there's The Trial of the Chicago 7. This is an Aaron Sorkin movie about:
The film is based on the infamous 1969 trial of seven defendants charged by the federal government with conspiracy and more, arising from the countercultural protests in Chicago at the 1968 Democratic National Convention. The trial transfixed the nation and sparked a conversation about mayhem intended to undermine the U.S. government.
Next up is Trial 4. This one is nuts! A documentary about:
Charged as a teenager in the 1993 killing of a Boston police officer, Sean K. Ellis fights to prove his innocence while exposing police corruption and systematic racism.
And finally, what I'm watching now, The Devil Next Door. This documentary is about:
A Cleveland grandfather is brought to trial in Israel, accused of being the infamous Nazi death camp guard Ivan the Terrible.
