How Do Texans Like…Their Eggs?
Texas loves lots of things but now we're finding out how Texas AND America love their eggs! You might be surprised by like one result at least, maybe. We’ve got the scoop from a recent YouGov survey of 17,391 US adults. Here’s how Texas, and the rest of the country, love their eggs!
Scrambled Reigns Supreme
The overwhelming favorite? Scrambled eggs! A whopping 45% of Americans prefer their eggs scrambled. Texans are right in line with this trend. Scrambled eggs are perfect for those busy Texas mornings when you need a quick, satisfying meal before heading out for a day of ranching or hitting the oil fields.
Fried Eggs: A Close Contender
Coming in second, fried eggs are favored by 24% of Americans. The South, including Texas, shows a strong preference for this style, with 23% choosing fried eggs. Whether it's sunny-side up or over-easy, there's something about a perfectly fried egg that speaks to the hearty Texan appetite.
Poached, Hard-Boiled, and Soft-Boiled: The Lesser-Loved Trio
Poached eggs, despite their Instagram-worthy appeal, only garnered 6% of the vote. Hard-boiled eggs are slightly more popular at 8%, perfect for those looking to pack a protein punch on-the-go. Soft-boiled eggs, delicate and often paired with toast soldiers, are enjoyed by just 3%.
Baked and Beyond
Baked eggs and other unique preparations didn’t fare as well, with baked eggs capturing only 1% and other methods rounding up 5%. It seems Texans, and Americans in general, prefer the classics.
The Eggless and the Undecided
Surprisingly, 6% of respondents don’t eat eggs at all. Another 2% are undecided about their favorite way to enjoy this breakfast staple.
Whether you’re scrambling them up or frying them to perfection, eggs remain a beloved choice for breakfast across Texas and the entire country. Check out the YouGov survey How do you like your eggs? Let us know in the comments below!
