Mother Arrested After 2-Year-Old Son Found Dead in a Dumpster

In a devastating turn of events, a missing 2-year-old boy was found dead inside a dumpster with a shocking suspect arrested.

POLICE CALLED OUT FOR A MISSING TODDLER

Around 8:25 p.m. officials were alerted about the disappearance of a toddler, identified as Jacoby Robinson Jr. When police arrived they immediately launched a search.

A TRAGIC DISCOVERY

Hours into the intensive search officers tragically found the body of 2-year-old Jacoby Robinson Jr. thrown inside of a garbage dumpster in Las Vegas; he was sadly pronounced dead.

THE SHOCKING SUSPECT

Detectives quickly focused their investigation on Jacoby's mother, 23-year-old Diaja Smith, who according to KVVU, was identified as the primary suspect.

One resident expressed his shock after finding out who the suspect was in the awful murder of a 2-year-old boy.

Kelvyn Barnett, a resident of the area where the toddler was found, recalled seeing Smith the night before her arrest.

"I saw a lady sitting there with her two other kids, really hysterical saying ‘somebody took my kid, somebody took my kid,’” Barnett said.

“To find out that she was the one that did this is the most shocking aspect of it all.”

Diaja Smith was arrested and booked into the Clark County Detention Center for open murder and other felony charges.
