My wife and I were planning a trip to Florida this summer so we could spend some time at Disney World. Since we've been together we've been to Disneyland twice, and really wanted to experience Disney World this summer. Well, COVID-19 changed those plans. We were honestly just a couple of days away from booking the whole trip. That's still not as bad as Joanna got it though. She was just hours from leaving El Paso for Anaheim to go to Disneyland with her family.

I've been trying to think of the best way to "experience" any of the parks from my living room, since we're all on lockdown. Something my family does pretty frequently is watch the rides on YouTube. There are a lot of videos people took from their perspective on any ride. From Pirates of the Caribbean to that sweet Tron coaster they have over in Shanghai. All it takes is a simple search.

I recently added an extra step that helps with the experience a little bit. Disney now has apps for all their parks. Disneyland. Hong Kong Disneyland. All of them. So download any or all of the apps. You'll only need one at a time.

Open the map on the app and plot a course like you normally would if you were actually going to the park. Head left in Disneyland and see the Enchanted Tiki Room first then make your way over to the Jungle Cruise. Maybe you head straight to the back in Toon Town and meet Mickey. It doesn't matter. The best part of this is you don't have to wait for lines.

Just plot the course, then search the rides, shows, and parades on YouTube and watch them in that order. No, it doesn't replace the real thing, but you work with what you have.

And on a side note, in case you haven't seen it, check out the sweet Tron Coaster.
