New Night Market Coming To Historic Del Norte Court Motel In Central El Paso
Picture this: It's a nice crisp spring/summer evening. You and your friends or family are hanging out at a historic El Paso motel while supporting local businesses.
That image can soon become a reality all thanks to a new night market that will soon be calling Del Norte Court Motel its home.
“Vendors Market” will be having their very first market on Friday, April 8th from 5 pm to 9 pm at the historic motel which is located in south-central El Paso.
The newly revamped Del Norte Court Motel is located on 4015 Alameda Ave right across the street from Evergreen cemetery in south-central El Paso.
Court Del Norte Motel was built in 1929. The motel's rooftop neon sign is from the 1930s and it screams vintage whenever you pass by it on Highway Texas 20.
“It is a classic example of an old motor court popular in those days before motels; separate cottages with an enclosed carport. It's located off the once cluttered Hwy 80, the old main highway in El Paso,” reads a Facebook caption from Vanishing Highways.
Although the motel still has its old vintage look to it, Court Del Norte got a much-needed 915 makeover that includes colorful murals that were painted by local artists.
“Just to walk around the motel is interesting alone,” said market organizers.
If you plan on heading out to this new market you can expect vendors of all types, food, drinks, and live music by various local performers.
This is the very first “Vendors Market” and organizers plan on continuing the market as least twice a month beginning in May.
"We're bringing back Highway Texas 20," said event organizers.
