Green Bay Packers RB Aaron Jones Makes Good on $10K Promise
He may be the star running back for the Green Bay Packers, but El Paso’s Aaron Jones never forgets about his West Texas roots.
The former Burges High School and UTEP standout made good on a promise he never had to make in the first place.
But he felt like he should.
You may remember back in February when EPISD and YISD came together to get a Class 5A boys regional quarterfinal game between Parkland and Chapin to be played at the legendary Don Haskins Center.
Why play that game hundreds of miles away when both schools are in El Paso?
Thousands showed up, including Packers running back Aaron Jones.
But that wasn’t all.
He also announced his foundation would donate $10,000 to the winning school’s athletic department.
Chapin won a thriller and just a little more than a month later… drumroll please:
There it is! Jones’ foundation with his brother, the A&A All The Way Foundation, showed up at Chapin High School to deliver the $10,000 check.
“Appreciate the love,” said Chapin Boys Basketball Head Coach Rodney Lewis. “You guys have done a remarkable job giving back to 915. Continued success and blessings to you all.”
Lewis in the video also thanks the foundation, the Jones brothers, and says the Chapin players work really hard and deserve the recognition.
No argument here - and congratulations to the Chapin Huskies on an incredible season.
Also, a huge shoutout to Aaron and Alvin Jones for always putting El Paso in the best light locally and on the national stage.
