Three bands once had a bad show "experience" in El Paso. It wasn't their fault, or ours, but no worries, they came back later and saw some real El Paso love.

Once upon a time there was a video compilation called Girls Gone Wild. One of the first "reality shows", GGW was built around finding drunk hotties and seeing what they could be convinced to do.

In the early internet days, way before Pornhub, (the Pornhub link is so NSFW), this was a big deal. They even advertised on tv ... on high numbered channels at 4am of course.

The brains behind these videos decided at one point to pull the "talent" hunts away from the beaches and typical college drink fests ... Spring Break, Cinco De Mayo, St. Patty's Day, etc ... and travel.

They put together a small run that featured 3 bands, Hinder, Faktion and Revelation Theory in hopes of drawing the crowd they wanted while testing various locals.

Helluva lineup, right? Now, on top of 3 great bands, tack on really good odds of seeing an untold number of hot girls get drunk and naked. Who could pass this up?

A day or two before the El Paso show, a key member of the Girls Gone Wild crew ... the main guy if I recall correctly ... was arrested and a ton of shady allegations were made .

Judge him/them for yourself.

Whatever happened, suddenly the El Paso Girls Gone Wild "casting call" wasn't so wild.

That pretty much stopped the advertising, killed the buzz and resulted in almost no crowd.

So, 3 awesome bands played to, pretty much, an empty room. I felt so bad for them and promised them if they ever came back, they would see what rock fans El Pasons really are.

Eventually, one by one, they did return and ... of course ... received a true El Paso welcome. The 915 backed me up and proved every word of what I said about this being a rockin' town to be true. Something they have pointed out to me EVERY time they've come back.

Hinder has been back a couple of times, once rockin' the main stage at the El Paso Downtown Street Festival.

Faktion returned once for a club show.

They also ... like Hinder ... played an El Paso Downtown Street Festival. Their year, '06, also included Puddle Of Mudd and Soil

This video is not from an EP show. (Sorry, I couldn't find any El Chuco video.)

Revelation Theory eventually shortened their name to Rev Theory and have been back here a few times.

Their visits included one Las Cruces date with Flyleaf and Seether.

Another was a Speaking Rock show which they played along with All That Remains, FFDP and Hatebreed.
