Former NMSU Star Trevelin Queen Wins NBA G League MVP

A few years ago, Trevelin Queen was dominating on the court for the NMSU Aggies. Now, he is doing the same thing in the pros. Today, Queen was named the NBA G League's Most Valuable Player after a dominant season for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.

In 19 games, he averaged 25.3 points, 6.6 rebounds, 5.2 assists and an NBA G League-best 3.3 steals in 35.0 minutes per game. Meanwhile, the Vipers were the top seed in the G League's Western Conference.

Queen also spent 10 games with the Houston Rockets and he averaged 4.3 points, 1.6 rebounds, 0.4 assists and 0.5 steals in 7.4 minutes per game. Prior to this season, he made a name for himself with the Lakers. First he starred o their summer league team and then he made it all the way to the final cuts in fall training camp.

Queen and the Vipers open the NBA G League post season tonight against the Texas Legends at Bert Ogden Arena in Edinburg, Texas. Tip-off for the Vipers' Western Conference semifinal bout is set for 6:00 p.m. MT on ESPNews.
