What would the holidays be without lights?

El Paso with it multicultural mix  has lots of options.

Most kick off with the El Paso Christmas in Lights Tree Lighting and Parade in Downtown El Paso.

San Jacinto Plaza Christmas Tree Lighting — The 77th annual “Christmas in Lights” sponsored by Evolve Credit Union continues the holiday tradition of the plaza’s spectacular Christmas tree and displays beginning Saturday, Dec. 1, at San Jacinto Plaza downtown. The ceremony begins at 4:30 p.m. with live entertainment, followed by the lighting of the Christmas tree by the Mayor and City Council members and the annual lighted Christmas parade.

 

 

FRED LOYA CHRISTMAS HOUSE

Although recent controversy has put a dark cloud over the Fred Loya House in far east El Paso, the tradition still continues. The home is  located on the  12000 block of Paseo de Oro . This 9 minute holiday light show  paired up with some great music  runs Friday, Saturday and Sundays starting the 2nd week of December, with 3 showings per day 6pm, 7pm and 8pm

 

 

 

 

 

EASTRIDGE NEIGHORHOOD

How about a slow drive light tour in east El Paso’s Eastridge Neighborhood. The residents  participate each year in a neighborhood-wide holiday light display. Lights are usually lit around the first week of December, and run through the holiday season.

 

UTEP

The UTEP also has its Christmas traditions, making students away from home feel the Southwest .Starts the  1st week of December.

West El Paso

A few neighborhoods along Rim Road and Country Club Road have a few homes with the full fare of Christmas.

Central El Paso

Check out some of the homes in the Loretto area as they light up the annual Luminarias 1st weekend of December and Christmas Eve. "Navidad de las Luminarias" - The Bruce Nehring Consort's annual concerts, lighted by candles and luminarias. The weekend of Dec 8th

Fort Bliss tree lighting ceremony

The Arlene P. Cain Tree outside Fort Bliss' Center Chapel One, Building 315 on Pershing Road on post, will be lighted for the holidays at 5 p.m. Thursday. The 1st Armored Division Band and Center Chapel One Choir will perform carols starting at 4:45 p.m., and Santa will make an appearance after the tree lighting. It's free and open to the public with a legal ID and proof of insurance. 568-2121

 

Horizon City 

The annual parade kicks off  Dec.8th at 8am

Check out the homes in the neighborhood in front of Horizon Middle School. As small treat, but if in the area a place to check out .

Luminarias by the Lake - West El Paso 

More than 2,500 luminarias line the botanical gardens and wetlands at Keystone Heritage Park, 4200 Doniphan, from 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 7-8.
