Even Hot Nurses Can’t Stop Anti-Lockdown Protesters
Protests around the nation are erupting after the President called (well, Tweeted) for the states to be reopened and "liberated." Many protesters called for their states to relax their "stay at home" orders and be allowed to resume working among other normal activities such as shopping and traveling.
On Saturday, a demonstration called "Operation Gridlock," took to the streets of Denver as protesters huddled en masse towards the State Capitol building. On their way there, they were met by healthcare workers who, as far as all reports show, were peacefully exercising their right to counter-protest against the group. Photographer Alyson McClaren captured these images that have been shared everywhere.
Look, I don't want to downplay the seriousness of this, but can we, for one minute, address how attractive they both look? While a scroll through the comments section (actually, don't do that) will raise questions like "are they really nurses?" A reporter for the Denver Westword says they are indeed nurses who have been dealing with COVID-19 patients for weeks but didn't reveal their names or say which hospital.
McClaran tells the NY Times that the duo were blocking cars until police stepped in. In a video shared by Mark Zenn the healthcare workers were called "heroes." Many will agree, many won't. With lots of states gradually opening up to regular activities, only time will tell if the demonstration worked. But for time being, I'm going to admire the hottie nurse and his firm, but peaceful stance.
