El Paso’s Halloween Parade Returns W/ Huge Crowds & Cool Costumes

El Paso's 36th annual Halloween parade returned this year with record-breaking attendance, creative costumes, and fun for the whole community.

A year after it was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, El Paso's popular Halloween Parade, traditionally put on by our partnering station KLAQ, returned on Sunday with plenty of witches, ghosts, ghouls, and goblins all ready to scare up a good time.

It's no surprise that El Pasoans flocked to Album Park Sunday afternoon as a study conducted by SmartAsset ranks El Paso as the fifth-best city in the country for Trick or Treating. According to the survey, ElPaso's low property crime rate, low daily COVID-19 cases, and its concentration of costume shops placed it as one of the best in the country and Texas.

Representing KISS-FM, I showed up as a Catrina, but it was nothing compared to some of the costumes that El Pasoans young and old, came to show off.

Apart from wicked costumes, thousands of El Pasoans made a full day out of the parade with some setting up picnics at Album park to hosting banquets with full-on hibachis and coolers full of ice-cold beverages along sidewalks and garage ports throughout the parade route.

Over 20,000 people came out to celebrate Halloween, blowing away previous attendance counts, which led us to the real nightmare of running out of candy!

Despite the treats shortage, the real fun was in the magic of make-believe and seeing our community enjoy some fun family time.
