Things To Do In El Paso That Don’t Involve World Cup Soccer
El Pasoans are losing their s**t over these world cup soccer games. Not everybody though so if you, (like me), could really care less, there are plenty of other things to do.

As far as things I'd rather do than watch soccer, I can think of a ton right off the top of my head that can be done pretty much anywhere. Things like watch paint dry or look for figures in the clouds ... maybe find an I-10 closure to get stuck in. Yeah, not a fan.
Luckily, non-fans ... or fans whose team is not playing at the moment ... have plenty of other things to do around El Paso.
Things To Do In El Paso Besides Watch Soccer
- Western Playland - It's up and running for the season with lots of cool rides and family fun. I know it's hot out but you can float over the park aboard the Sky Glider, (sitting doesn't require much effort), or you can cool off on the Tsunami.
- Wet 'n Wild - Also open for 2026, it's THE place to escape the summer heat. Aaaaaand the soccer, there aren't any tv's out there. 😉 (Though, somebody will probably be watching it on their phone so you may overhear a little.)
- Day Drinking - Probably the way I'll go. If you go to a bar, you will be surrounded by tv's and soccer maniacs so, that isn't really an escape.
If you're chilling at home though, you can mark yourself 100% safe from anything involving grown men chasing a little ball up and down the field while pretending to be seriously, almost fatally wounded. (Language NSFW)
There are tons of other things you can do around here - take a hike, (be safe though), hop on your bad motor scooter and ride the mountain, take a daytrip and cool off in the mountains. 'Ya got options, including this guys ...
Let the soccer freaks have their meltdowns while you relax. Football season is a different story but check back here mid - October. I'll have another article like this for my fellow basketball haters.
