El Paso Motorcycle Coalition Toy Run
The 30th annual El Paso Motorcycle Coalition Toy Run/Parade is set for Sunday!
El Paso area bikers will roll together Sunday morning to raise toys and funds to buy toys for needy children in El Paso and the El Paso area. Registration starts at 9 at International Truck Driving School, 141 Quinella in the Upper Valley. (Near Sunland Park Racetrack And Casino!)
DON'T FORGET THE TIME CHANGES LATE SATURDAY NIGHT/EARLY SUNDAY MORNING!
The parade will roll at approximately 11:15 am. The route runs along Doniphan, Talbot and Trans Mountain, then goes over the mountain to Cohen Stadium. Last years parade actually spanned the mountain!! (As the lead bikes were arriving at Cohen, the end of the parade was still on the west side in the I-10/Trans Mountain area!)
Cost is $10 plus a new, unwrapped toy. (Minimum $5 value.) Children 10 and under need only bring the toy.
30 years ago, a handful of bikers started this annual event to help a few needy neighborhood kids. The event is now participated in by El Paso area bikers, non-bikers, volunteer groups (El Paso Mayor John Cook has led the parade several years in a row!) and many local businesses; all working together to bring Christmas to thousands of children throughout The Borderland.
Following the parade, the party at Cohen Stadium is always a blast! Food, drinks, a fashion show and much more; plus live rock from Y Not, Synyster and Texas Roadkill!
You don't have to ride to be a part of this yearly event! (Though it's a lot more fun that way!) To brighten a less fortunate childs Christmas, you need only bring your donation and have a good time!
