U.S. News recently released its list of the 100 best places to live in the United States, based on analysis of the most popular metro areas, and El Paso made the cut.

To make the list of the top 100, U.S. News said a city had to have "good value, be a desirable place to live, have a strong job market and a high quality of life." It seems El Paso had all that going for it, because the Sun City is on the list, coming in at No. 71.

On a scale rating up to 10, El Paso received a ranking of 6.1, and KLAQ's own BalloonFest got a shout out in the site's write-up. Each city on the list was was ranked according to desirability, value, job market, quality of life and net migration. According to the list, El Paso received a 5.9 in desirability; 6.2 in value; 5.6 in job market; 7.3 in quality of life and 5.1 in net migration.

Texas scored tons of spots on the Top 100 list, with Austin coming in at No. 2; Houston at 17; Dallas at 21 and San Antonio at No. 23.

Before we get too excited in the Sun City about making the list, I should point out that Detroit wasn't all that far behind us, coming in at No. 86.
