El Paso Hikers, End The Decade & Start A New One Doing Your Thing
If you are into hiking, here's a perfect way for you to kick off the new year.
Hikers all over Texas will have a chance to "hike" into 2020 ... or out of 2019 ... on special treks taking place December 31st, 2019 and January 1st, 2020. Most of the hikes are guided by State park staff and/or volunteers and some take things a step farther by including runs, bike rides and paddles.
El Paso area hikers can explore Franklin Mountains State Park where:
Park rangers are hosting a 5.5-mile, moderate hike from 9 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. along the scenic trail up to Mundy’s Gap.
Hikers will meet at the West Cottonwood Springs trailhead in the Tom Mays Unit and should come equipped with water, snacks and sturdy hiking shoes. - EP Herald Post
