Forbes just released a list of 25 cities where retired folks can live cheap and El Paso not only made the cut, we made the top 10.

The list ID'd the top 25 cities in the United States of America where folks can live comfortably for under $2K a month. For El Paso, I'm guessing that's not counting home owners given El Chuco's property tax rates.

Florida had the most cities on the Forbes list, (8), but Texas held a respectable 2nd place with 5 cities: El Paso was #9 and Dallas came in at #10, followed by San Antonio (14), and Corpus Christi at 15. Midland, #22, was last.

Some of the things that put El Paso the list include low housing costs and the fact that Texas has no state income tax. As far as retirees go, our climate is a bonus too given our mild winters and overall stable conditions. Although the heat can sure be a mo-fo.
