Drunken Deaf Texas Couple Beat Infant to Death for Crying
Texas authorities say that a deaf couple, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, beat their infant child to death over the weekend because even though they couldn’t actually hear her cries, the fit still made them angry.
According to police reports, 35-year-old Hector Rene Cupich-Quinones and 37 year-old Maria Guadalupe Zuniga became infuriated by the vibrations that their 5-month-old daughter was making while crying. That is when Cupich-Quinones allegedly shook the child and slammed her head against a counter-top – dropping her head first to the floor.
The report suggests that Cupich-Quinones had his wife put the child to bed and upon waking up on Sunday morning, found her fighting to even breathe. When paramedics arrived, they noticed suspicious bruises all over the child's body.
Police arrested the couple shortly after their daughter was pronounced dead at Medical City Dallas Hospital.
Both suspects are currently being held on charges ranging from injury to a child to capital murder.
