Popular Coffee Creamer Recalled in Texas and Beyond
Yikes! This is terrible news for those of us who love to have a little splash of holiday cheer in their cup of coffee!
Just as the holidays are about to hit, International Delight has recalled more than 10,000 holiday creamers for misbranding across 13 states, and that includes Texas!
The recall impacts the International Delight “Home Alone” Peppermint Mocha Zero Sugar coffee creamer because it was labeled as “zero sugar,” but it does, in fact, contain sugar.
The mislabeled coffee creamer was recalled on October 12 from all stores in Texas, as well as stores in Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Mississippi, New Mexico, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Wisconsin.
International Delight didn’t share the lot number for the recalled coffee creamer, but it did call out that the recall impacts all Peppermint Mocha Zero Sugar creamers with the best-by date of Feb. 25, 2025.
These holiday creamers have apparently been in stores since July- so consumers are being advised that if you've had one of these in your fridge since then to check the best-by date. Luckily, the FDA hasn't reported any illnesses caused by the creamer, but if you are controlling your sugar intake for medical reasons it may be unsafe to consume the creamer.
For those who love the holiday creamers, the good news is that the recall only impacts the Peppermint Mocha Zero Sugar creamer. The other “Home Alone” creamers—including regular Peppermint Mocha, Hot Chocolate Marshmallow, and Frosted Sugar Cookie—have not been recalled.
In recent months, several food recalls have been issued across the U.S. due to contamination concerns, some of them were as serious as Listeria concerns in meat products. While this one wasn't as serious as Listeria or e. Coli, it's still best to err on side of caution.
