Celebrate El Paso’s 150th Birthday With These Free Events Across Town
Happy birthday, Sun City!
As of June 18, El Paso is officially 150 years old! According to the City of El Paso, Joseph Magoffin and Allen Blacker delivered the City Charter to Austin in May 1873. It was presented to the legislature and approved on May 17, 1873. It was officially signed and sealed on June 18, 1873- and then El Paso was officially born!
Well, it wouldn't be a birthday without a celebration, so in honor of the sesquicentennial anniversary, the City of El Paso is celebrating with events across town.
