The City of El Paso is looking for artists in the borderland for upcoming art exhibits around the city. Are you an artist looking for a new way to showcase your original pieces in El Paso? The City of El Paso Museum and Cultural Affairs Department (MCAD) and the El Paso International Airport are looking to create a group of local artists and artist groups from El Paso and the surrounding area to showcase their artwork at various Art Windows around the city. According to MCAD, "Art Windows provides exhibit space for local artists to display their work for a three month period. The designated space is intended to showcase El Paso as an international cultural destination through high-quality art and visual experiences."

If you would like to enter, you can enter online at the Call for Action application managed by the Western States Arts Federation. Applicants create a profile at the Call For Entry website and then click on the "City of El Paso Art Window 2019-2020" page. When applying, you must have:

  • A Letter of Interest (Why you should be considered)
  • Resume (experience, teams must have a resume for EACH member)
  • 6 images and a description of each piece of finished artwork created by the applicants (also give dimensions of actual art, medium and images must be JPG 1920x1920)

All applicants' artwork will be judged on the "geographic and cultural diversity, as well as a variety of genres and media. The feasibility of the proposal will be considered: images and supporting materials should represent the artist's ability to carry out the proposed exhibition." Artists who apply will not be compensated for exhibiting their work. Find more information about this at the CAFE website and the City of El Paso Facebook page.
