3 Famous Celebrities That Have Roasted the State of Texas
Ah yes...Texas is no stranger to jokes. We've had SEVERAL people make fun of us on a daily basis. And that applies to celebrities too; a few of them have taken jabs at both the state and some of its people on television in the past too.
Charles Barkley has been known for making fun of San Antonio women
Let's talk about Sir Charles...Charles Barkley. He's a basketball legend known for playing with the 76ers, the Suns & the Rockets. However, he's also known for some severe roasts to San Antonio women, calling them "BIG".
He's done SO MANY roasts on TNT, there are several videos of his roasting online too. Even today he's still refusing to ease up on the jokes...
Jeff Ross roasted Texas prisoners for a comedy special
If we're going to talk about roasts, then you HAVE to mention the RoastMaster General himself, Jeffery Ross. He's roasted Texas SEVERAL times before; for instance, he brought his army of jokes to SXSW in 2018.
But he's also known for roasting Texas prisoners in his comedy special titled: "Jeff Ross Roasts Criminals: Live At Brazos County Jail". Which I'll be completely honest...that takes GUTS to go up to inmates and make fun of them directly in their faces.
Spongebob Squarepants roasted Texas for an entire episode
Wait...why is a cartoon on here? Well considering he's only the BIGGEST CARTOON CHARACTER in the last 20 years, I'd definitely say he has achieved celebrity stardom. Or spongedom in this case...
But we know why he's here on this list. The episode "Texas" is why. Spongebob & Patrick calling Texas "dumb" has spawned several memes (and different versions) all over the internet. Even years after the episode aired... let's be honest, it's still pretty funny to watch...
Do we even need to mention Family Guy's roasting of Texas?
Speaking of cartoons making fun of Texas; Family Guy has done it SEVERAL times (thank you, Seth MacFarlane). We've seen President George W Bush be made fun of, our gun laws, Texas education, & us believing in the Super Devil (which how do you know DOESN'T exist?? that's a joke...).
Fun fact: El Paso was ALSO included in an episode of Family Guy. Surprisingly... we didn't receive the brunt of too many jokes in that episode.
This certainly won't be the last time Texas will be made fun of; so bring it on. We can take the jokes.
