Deep down inside, everybody wants to be from Texas. Just saying the words, "I'm from Texas" gets instant attention. Problem is, these folks are lying ...

I'm thrilled to the bone to be born and raised in the lone star state and so are these peeps. Except, while they may live here, they weren't born here so instead of stolen valor, they're guilty of stolen coolness.

Check out these peeps who truly live up to the old saying, "I wasn't born in Texas but I got here as quick as I could".

There are lots of cool sayings about Texas like that one. Another, from Davey Crockett, is "You may all go to Hell and I will go to Texas". Journalist John Gunther said "If a man's from Texas, he'll tell you. If not, why embarrass him by asking?" and author Mary Lasswell sort of echoed that with:

"I am forced to conclude that God made Texas on his day off, for pure entertainment, just to prove that all that diversity could be crammed into one section of earth by a really top hand.- Texasstandard.org

Being Texan is absolutely something to be proud of but, while I totally get it, some peeps lie about it. Take these for example:

We'll forgive them. They have done some good things, helped promote Texas to a great degree and, after all, who doesn't want to be from Texas? We gladly accept honorary Texans as long as they abide by the best Texas saying of 'em all ...

Don't Mess With Texas.
