So, my bats are back. These are migratory Mexican Fruit Bats and they stop over in West Texas for a few weeks in the spring and summer. When they do, they have to find someplace to roost during the daytime. Popular bat-roosting locations include caves, under bridges and in the EAVES OF MY HOUSE!

These bats are about the size of your thumb when they're full-grown so it only takes an opening the size of a dime for them to get in.

Let me be clear on one point: bats are actually good things to have around. The Mexican Fruit bats feed mosquitoes and other pests. However, in years past, I've had hundreds of bats roosting in the eaves of my house. This week I found a dead one. Yes, a dead bat just lying in the middle of my living room.

There are two things you need to know about the video you are about to see. Number one, bats carry rabies so you should never, ever, under ANY circumstances put one in your mouth.

And, number two...somebody dared me to anyway.
