Seeking Thrills? Uncover the Best Bungee Jumping Spots Just Outside El Paso
You know that scene in "Selena" where she goes bungee jumping and everyone thinks she's crazy?
First of all, I hear that Selena really did do this in real life; second of all- have you ever wanted to do that? Well, you can!
If you're an adrenaline junkie in El Paso and looking for your next thrill, why not try bungee jumping? I hear it is one of the most freeing things you can do. So I began doing some research, and as it turns out, you can't just bungee jump anywhere.
Bungee jumping is taken very seriously, and should only be done with professionals! I couldn't find any places in El Paso that offer bungee jumping, but I found the next best things- where you can go bungee jumping just outside of El Paso!
Navajo Bridge Bungee Jump
First up, is in Arizona. From El Paso you can travel the nine hour drive to Marble Canyon, near the Grand Canyon, where you'll encounter the historic Navajo Bridge that is famous for bungee jumping. You'll leap from 467 feet above the Colorado River and get some amazing views.
According to this website, it costs $350 to bungee jump off the Navajo Bridge.
Rio Grande Bridge
Next up, this bridge is in Taos, New Mexico, about 6 hours outside of El Paso. The bridge is 680 feet above the Rio Grande Gorge. No brave soul has shared a video of themselves bungee jumping off the bridge, but here's what you can expect.
Gravity Park South Padre Island
Lastly, we go to South Padre Island where Gravity Park doesn't really have bungee jumping, but it has the next best thing: reverse bungee jumping- where you instead are hurled up instead of jumping down. At Gravity Park, the attraction is called The Rocket and only costs $25.
It looks a little more tamer than regular bungee jumping.
If you're looking to travel outside any of these suggestions, check out this website for more bungee jumping locations.
