Bus From El Paso Crashes En Route to Los Angeles – Four People Are Dead
A bus that left El Paso this morning on it's way to Los Angeles, has crashed. Four people are dead, and a number of other passengers are injured. Details are sketchy right now, but this is what we know...
The passenger bus flipped on its side and slid down an embankment after it tried to avoid a jackknifed big rig that had spilled steel pipes on the roadway.
The crash happened this morning around 2:15 near the Arizona border. When the tractor trailer jackknifed, the bus swerved to avoid the pipes that had fallen from the truck. The bus possibly hit the pipes, and then overturned. It slid across the shoulder and then down 50 feet of an embankment.
Four people from the bus were killed.
The bus is operated by El Paso-Los Angeles Limousine Express, Inc. The company has already sent out smaller charter buses to take care of uninjured passengers.
