5 Oscar Worthy Senior Pranks

Albert Einstein once said, “Imagination is more important than Knowledge. Knowledge is limited, but imagination encircles the world.” This senior class truly embodied the spirit of creativity and imagination in a senior prank that yes, left their school’s hallways in complete disarray, but gave this group of students something of substance to reminisce upon at their 50^th high school reunion. Despite the repercussions these students must have endured at the wrath of their administration, they set a precedent that day. One for every future student who walks through those hallways and remembers the day that their predecessors slipped and slid themselves right to graduation day (no pun intended).

After watching this video, I now cringe at the sight of crosswalks. No longer should pedestrians have the right-of-way. Although this senior prank probably ruined some overachiever’s near-perfect attendance record at work, it serves as a prime example for what a senior class should strive for when considering their end of the year plans for a prank. It was not only perfectly executed and absolutely flawless, but it had just the right amount of humor that would make anyone wish they were back in high school. By creating just enough chaos with a tasteful, yet downright hilarious prank, this senior class receives the Best in Show Award. Bravo seniors, bravo. You deserve a standing ovation.

I’m fairly certain this group of high school seniors was the first in line for the midnight premiere of the documentary film, March of the Penguins.  In fact, they were so inspired by the annual journey of Emperor penguins across Antarctica that their very own senior prank was modeled after the film. Unfortunately for them, Morgan Freeman did not narrate their escapades. While most senior pranks provide a fun and entertaining spectacle for the student body, this particular prank resulted in a criminal investigation. A group of seniors broke into an El Paso high school dressed up as penguins during a vandalism spree back in March 2012. All 7 furry friends were arrested and charged with a felony that is punishable by up to two years in jail.

I’m still trying to come to terms with this particular senior prank, which features high school seniors (whom I assume comprise the majority, if not all, of their school’s swim team) jumping into a pool.  Now you’re probably scanning the paragraph for the actual prank, but that’s pretty much it. I know, I was disappointed too. While the most exciting part is the dramatic background music, I wouldn’t recommend viewing anything past 1 minute into the video. I did, however, grant this senior prank (and I use that term very lightly) the “E” for Effort Award for the perfectly executed black flips. Word of caution for the next senior class, don’t ever try to pull this off again. Ever.

With a whopping 14 views on YouTube, this senior prank, needless to say, failed miserably at any and all efforts to make their senior prank one to remember. This 1 minute video features a throng of students (some stationary, some gyrating) in their school’s hallways in an attempt to prohibit students from walking to their next class. The video concludes with a senior chant during which time half of the students in the hallway walk around aimlessly with the look of a lost puppy in their eyes. Evidently their Senior Prom didn’t do the trick, so they decided to bring the fun and games to the hallways. Attention seniors, if at first you don’t succeed, please don’t try again. I think the award speaks for itself: “Honey, Go Home.”
