Filter put on one of the most badass concerts we’ve had in El Paso in years. True rockers are the ones still on stage after the rain starts to screw with the equipment. Even though lead singer Richard Patrick got shocked a few times by his microphone, he still found enough kickass inside of him to do a little crowd surfing.
Filter is awesome. At yesterday's KLAQ BBQ, they continued to play in the rain long after most bands would have run for shelter, citing their "contracts" and saying they didn't want to "get killed by lightning." Not Filter. They are so effing cool.
Right before I introduced them I had what I call a "Larry David" Moment. That is defined as " offending someone uni
Filter founder and lead singer, Richard Patrick, loves him some El Paso. A rain storm threatened to halt Filter's performance at the KLAQ BBQ; but the crowd stayed and Patrick did, too. Patrick loved it so much he paid the crowd a visit!

Tonight's the night! We start Street Fest in earnest as Bush headlines on the Budweiser Main Stage tonight and Third Eye Blind tomorrow. But one of the coolest things about Street Fest is that there is so much else going on -- and we try to capture it all with our Street Fest Slowdowns. Here's last year's!
During an interview with Filter frontman Richard Patrick about the band's upcoming album 'The Sun Comes Out Tonight,' the musician shared an unnerving story about his wife. As Patrick's wife was driving her Prius, which sports a 'Ban Assault Weapons' bumper sticker, the singer says a car full of "God-proclaiming gun nuts" began to throw trash at her car, almost running her off the road.
